Emma Marsden and Rachel Hawkes, NCELP Director and Co-Director respectively, presented at the Inside Government National Modern Foreign Languages Conference 2020 on 7 October 2020.

Emma’s keynote gave a snapshot of NCELP’s activities including CPD & resources, she highlighted the alignment between NCELP & Ofsted’s Framework, talked about making grammar matter through reading & listening and bringing phonics, vocabulary & grammar together in assessments. During her workshop, Rachel discussed phonics (working with unknown words), vocabulary (shortcut to systematic revisiting), and grammar (input practice before production).
