Rachel Hawkes presented “When less is definitely more: integrating planned and spontaneous target language use with content teaching” at the annual Association for Language Learning Conference in Manchester on 13 March 2020. The workshop focused on the decisions that inform teacher and student use of the target language and English in secondary foreign language classrooms. In the session participants addressed the questions: How much target language is the right amount? How much English should we use, and what for?
